Clash-Of-Civilizations Speech By Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir At Islamabad Convention Seven Days Before April 22 Terror Attack In Kashmir: 'We Are Different From The Hindus In Every Possible
Speaking at the First Annual Convention of Overseas Pakistanis organized by Pakistani government in Islamabad from April 13-16, 2025, Pakistan Army chief General Asim Munir outlined a religious ideological position against India, saying that "We are different from the Hindus" and Kashmir "was our jugular vein; it is our jugular vein."
General Asim Munir's speech was delivered a week ahead of the April 22 terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir in which 26 tourists, mostly Hindu males, were singled out and shot dead by jihadi fighters believed to have been aided by Pakistani intelligence.[1]
Speaking on April 15, General Asim Munir told overseas Pakistanis gathered at the convention that Islamic civilization is superior to the West: "Our beloved [ones] who are [based] overseas, because you live in different civilizations, don't you ever forget that you belong to a superior ideology and a superior culture."

"Because You Live In Different Civilizations, Don't You Ever Forget That You Belong To A Superior Ideology And A Superior Culture"
Opening chants from audience: "Long Live The Pakistan Army."
Gen. Asim Munir: "I am really humbled to see the sentiments that you have shown toward the armed forces. And I am extremely grateful to each one of you for these sentiments and for these emotions that you have for [unclear].
"Our sentiments and emotions for you are even stronger; you are not only the ambassadors of Pakistan. You are of course the warriors, the soldiers of Pakistan. You are the light of Pakistan that shines in many countries around the world. And the way you are contributing to your country in the form of remittances and investments through multiple channels shows how much love you have for your country.
"Our beloved [ones] who are [based] overseas, because you live in different civilizations, don't you ever forget that you belong to a superior ideology and a superior culture. [Pakistan's national poet Muhammad] Iqbal said: 'Judge not your nation on the criteria of Western nations / Special in composition is the Hashimi Prophet's nation.'
"It is said that there is brain-drain taking place in Pakistan. Come on, is this the brain-drain [points to the audience of Pakistanis living abroad]? Is it not the brain-gain, which has taken place, that we have sent such fantastic ambassadors abroad that you are representing our country in every nook and corner of the world. Is it brain-drain? And if this is the brain-drain, then we would like to continue this brain-drain indefinitely."
"Up To Today In The History Of Humanity, There Have Been Only Two States Founded On The Basis Of Kalima [i.e., Islam] The First One Was Riyasat-E-Tayyiba [i.e., Medina]"; "And The Second State, 1300 Years Later, Allah Created, Is [Pakistan]"
"You must tell the story of Pakistan to your children so that they do not forget the story of Pakistan. Our forefathers thought that we are different from the Hindus in every possible aspect of life. Our religion is different. Our customs are different. Our traditions are different. Our thoughts are different. Our ambitions are different.
"That was the foundation of the Two-Nation Theory that was laid there, that we are two nations, we are not one nation. So, because of that our forefathers, they struggled, mounted that incessant struggle to create this country. Our forefathers, they have sacrificed immensely, and we have sacrificed a lot for the creation of this country, and we know how to defend it.
"My dear brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, please do not forget the story of Pakistan. And do not forget to narrate this story of Pakistan to the next generation so that their bond with Pakistan never weakens, whether it is the third generation, or the fourth generation, or the fifth generation, they know what Pakistan is for them.
"Up to today in the history of humanity, there have only been two states founded on the basis of Kalima [the Islamic declaration of faith: 'There is no deity but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger']. The first one is Riyasat-e-Tayyiba [i.e., Medina], because Tayyiba was named by the prophet, peace be upon him, while in the Quran its name is Yathrib … [Quran 33:13] 'Ye men of Yathrib! ye cannot stand (the attack)! therefore go back!'; it is the name in the Quran that is today called Medina Munawwara. And the second state, 1,300 years later, Allah created, is that of [Pakistan], based on the foundation of Kalima."
"If The Indian Army Of 1.3 Million With All Their Wherewithal Cannot Intimidate Or Coerce Us, [Can] These Terrorists Subdue The Armed Forces Of Pakistan?"
"Whatever the little bit of terrorism which is taking place in the country, and people say and people are mostly propagating that with this kind of security situation there will not be any investment coming to Pakistan.
"Well, to them, they must hear me very clearly now: You think terrorists can take away the destiny of this country from us?
"If this great Pakistani nation and the Pakistani armed forces, if the Indian army of 1.3 million, with all their wherewithal, cannot intimidate or coerce us, [can] these terrorists subdue the armed forces of Pakistan?"
"Balochistan, That Is, Is The Destiny Of Pakistan"; "Even Your Next Ten Generations Cannot Take [Balochistan From Pakistan] – Allah Willing, You Will See That We Will Beat The Hell Out Of These Terrorists Very Soon"
"And Balochistan, that is, is the destiny of Pakistan, which is the chandelier of the forehead of Pakistan. You 1,500 individuals say that you will take it away? Even your next ten generations cannot take [Balochistan from Pakistan]. Allah willing, you will see that we will beat the hell out of these terrorists very soon.

"Balochistan; you think these 1,500 people belonging to the BLA [Balochistan Liberation Army], BLF [Balochistan Liberation Front], and BRA [Balochistan Republican Army], etc., can take Balochistan from us?
"We have those brave fathers who proudly shoulder the funeral of their sons and take them to the grave. Pakistan will not fall. And as long as we have those brave mothers who proudly sacrifice their sons for the sake of the country, Pakistan will not fall."
The audience chants: "Pakistan, Pakistan, What is the meaning of Pakistan – La Illah Illallah [There is no deity but Allah]."
"The Security Agencies Of The Country, Those Who Are Sacrificing Their Lives On A Daily Basis For… The Defense Of The Country, The One Who Belittles Them Is The Enemy Of Pakistan – Pakistan Needs To Be A Hard State"
Amir continues: "The security agencies of the country, those who are sacrificing their lives on a daily basis for your safety and security and wellbeing and defense of the country, the one who belittles them, he is the enemy of Pakistan. Pakistan needs to be a hard state.
"A country, all of whose institutions, departments, organizations, divisions, elite/allied departments, are working according to the law, are fully operational, and everything is done according to the constitution, is a hard state.
"This is about social media. I was saying, your religion, clearly go and read Surah Ahzab [sic., the relevant verse is from Surah Al-Hujurat] – it is written clearly in it.
"Isn't it [the case] that there is nothing more truthful than the Quran for us? … 'Oh believers, when some fasiq [wicked person] comes to you with a story, then investigate it, it should not happen that in your ignorance you cause loss to someone, and you have to bear shame.'[3] This is your Quran.
"And what does your social media say: forward as received, there is no need to investigate, just forward it on."
"We Will Not Leave Our Kashmiri Brethren In Their Heroic Struggle That They Are Waging Against The Indian Occupation – We Have Fought Three Wars For Kashmir"
"Our stance, government's stance on Kashmir is absolutely clear; it was our jugular vein, it is our jugular vein. We will not forget it. And we will not leave our Kashmiri brethren in their heroic struggle that they are waging against the Indian occupation. We have fought three wars for Kashmir.
"Every kind of support that has been extended from Pakistan to the Muslims of Gaza also. The strongest possible words have been used by Pakistan for the Muslims of Gaza and Palestine.
"So, is it not a question of when will Pakistan rise? It is no longer a question. Pakistan has already started rising. The question is how fast and how quickly can you rise? That is the question. And we will definitely guide this country to occupy its rightful position in the comity of nations.
"If you come across a difficulty, face it, stand before that difficulty and overcome that difficulty and chart out that path that Allah has promised you, and we will reach it, Allah willing. Regardless of all these difficulties, long live Pakistan, always."
